Glinda Crawford received a B.S. from Northeast Missouri State University in 1969. In 1975, she earned her master's degree at Iowa State University and moved to the University of North Dakota where she accepted a position as Head of the Home Economics Department. She returned to Iowa State in 1978 and earned a Ph. D from that institution in 1980. Crawford then resumed her role at UND.
